Specialty Destinations
Rest assured that I know my way around the globe. I started drawing maps of the world by memory as a kid.
Foreign Languages
I am fluent in Spanish, Greek, Portuguese, German, and French, an advantage when local connection and on-the-ground validation is needed.
Education
I have my Masters Degree in International Relations from the University of California, San Diego. I'm continuously plugged into geopolitical realities, an asset when assessing your appetite for risk.
Experience
From hiking the highest peaks in the Global South to exploring isolated communities along the Black Sea, I bring deep, cultural knowledge, logistical know-how, and tasteful considerations to travel planning.
Global Experience
While excited to plan any destination, I do have my specialty areas:
Greece
As a Greek citizen, Greece is home turf. There is more to Greece than Santorini and Mykonos. With a fascinating mainland and 200+ islands to choose from, let's curate your next Greek odyssey.
Mexico
Mexico is my favorite destination on Earth. Away from the bustle of Tulum and Puerto Vallarta lie secluded beaches, colorful towns, and a festive indigenous culture that still beats to its own drum.
Colombia
I had only known Bogota from work. But then I married a Colombian man who's opened my eyes. Bordering two oceans, with unparalleled biodiversity, Colombia offers ancient ruins, colonial, mountain towns, and Carnivals that rival Rio.

Greece: Travel advice & sample itineraries
Overview
Despite an ever-growing list of North American cities with nonstop flights to Athens, planning a trip within Greece can be daunting given its complex island geography, breadth of experiential offerings, and seasonal pricing. There are many reasons Greece ranks among the Top 10 most visited countries on earth, despite its relatively small size. With nearly 4 visitors per citizen, tourism remains the most critical, economic sector in the country. There is something for everyone at any time of year, English is widely spoken, and tourism infrastructure is well-developed. My main advice is to avoid packing in too much for your first visit. Plan to break up your trip into easily accessible segments and ensure sufficient time in each to relax and explore. Flexibility is key, particularly when island-hopping, as ferry schedules can abruptly change. Statistically, most visitors to Greece return. Also, avoid July and August when prices and crowds peak.
Islands
Each of Greece's 200+ inhabited islands is unique - sometimes remarkably so - and picking the right island or islands for you will be a matter of personal preference. With some noteworthy exceptions, the Aegean islands are characterized by their dry, nearly desert-like conditions, sugar-cubed homes and iconic blues and whites. Conversely, the Ionian side is generally wetter and greener, its colorful pastel architecture a product of centuries of Venetian rule. Some islands are only accessible by sea while others boast modern airports and heliports (yes, you can cheaply take helicopters to a growing number of islands from Athens). On some larger islands like Kefalonia, Ikaria, and Naxos, it may make sense to base yourself in a major town and rent a car to explore on your own. On Crete, the largest island in Greece, it can take up to 6 hours to drive from West to East. Plan ahead or choose a side.
Mainland
Other than Athens, first-time travelers to Greece often overlook the mainland in search of that perfect "beach" vacation on the islands, unaware that Greece's mainland has some of the country's best, from the crystal-clear blues of Navarino Bay in the Peloponnese to the three-fingered Halkidiki region of Macedonia. One of my favorite mainland destinations is Monemvasia, a Byzantine-era, fortress-like, town of cobblestone streets and ancient churches on the Peloponnesian coast, where you can plunge into the Aegean from just below the castle walls. While few places in mainland Greece are more than 50 miles from the sea, the interior, particularly Epirus, can feel worlds apart. Think endless pine forests, cozy cabins of wood and stone, snowy peaks, Ottoman-era bridges looming over ice-cold streams of turquoise blues and isolated, mountain roads dotted with signage for wolf, bear, and boar-crossings. Ancient history abounds in the interior from the site of the original Olympics games in Olympia in the south to the ruins of the once-famed oracle of Delphi in the North.
Macedonia and Epirus - Self-Drive (2 weeks)
Fly into Greece's second city, Thessaloniki, famed for its vibrant student life, cafe culture, and multilayered history. Using Thessaloniki as homebase, rent a car for daytrips within a 2-hour driving radius. Explore the ancient tombs of King Philip of Macedon, the nearby beaches of Halkidiki, and the hiking trails of Mount Olympus. Drive west toward the Zagori region in Epirus to hike the Vikos Gorge, the world's deepest canyon relative to its width. Along the way, spend 2 nights in Meteora, where millennia-old Orthodox monasteries crown natural rock pillars rising high above the Thessalian Plain.
